We accept the booing by fans- Gyan

The skipper of the Black Stars says their dismal performance against Congo called for the booing by the fans

Asamoah Gyan has revealed he wasnt surprised to witness the fans pour out their anger on the Black Stars because they didnt live up to the billing against Congo.

Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw on Friday by Congo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers to throw the nation into a great shock and were booed by the teeming fans who stood on their feet to support them without getting the desired results they were expecting.

Gyan who was replaced in the early minutes of the second half after picking up a groin injury has stated he and his teammates deserved the booing by the vociferous Kumasi fans.

''It's one of those things. After the game I told some of the players, when you win massively, you are the best player, when you don't do well the fans will criticize you,'' Gyan said.

''As professional footballers we have to be ready for all of those things. We do accept it. We didn't live up to expectations as the supporters wanted it. We do agree with them. The booing is one of those things sometimes.

''It depends when you are doing the right thing and people don't understand and they boo you but as for this one I do understand because things we were not going right for us.'
