Nobody says it is easy but the data is there to show that there is an influx of people looking to get rich and make a difference in Ghana.

For decades, many African countries have seen some of their most skillful young people take their talents to other parts of the world, lured by the financial prospects outside the continent.

Ghana is no exception.

Whether they have been in education, fast-moving consumer goods, fashion, technology, banking, telecommunications and agriculture, there are many Ghanaians who have left well-paid positions in the west.

Today we chronicle 5 Ghanaian repats who are doing amazingly well.

Patrick Awuah

Patrick G. Awuah, Jr. Patrick Awuah is the Founder and President of Ashesi University College, a private, not-for-profit institution that has quickly gained a reputation for innovation and quality education in Ghana. Before founding Ashesi University, Patrick worked as a Program Manager for Microsoft where, among other things, he spearheaded the development of dial-up internet working technologies and gained a reputation for bringing difficult projects to completion.

Kweku Boateng

‘Brommon Bespoke’ is a fashion house which specializes in the making of quality hand-made Italian suits for men and has been in existence in Ghana since January 2014. In the UK, Kweku worked with top brands like Alexander Macqueen before moving to Ghana to set the Brommon dream in motion.

Ama K. Abebrese

Ama K. Abebrese is an award-winning British Ghanaian actress, television presenter and producer. She was born in Ghana and raised in West London in the United Kingdom.

The screen diva is an accomplished television presenter, having started hosting TV shows in her teens on YCTV in London, she has presented on BBC2, OBE TV,

She won the 2011 Best Actress in a Leading Role at the AMAA Awards for her stellar performance in Sinking Sands Her film credits includes the Netflix movie Beast of no Nation. Ama left the UK to take up new challenges in Ghana.

Afia Odo

Afia Odois named as one of the most successful repats in Ghana. She relocated back to Ghana from the US and she seems to have found success. She took up several jobs in the US but later on decided to make a come back to Ghana.

She has made a name for herself as a media personality.

Anthony

Anthony Baffoe born in Bad Godesberg, Bonn, West Germany is a business manager and former Ghana international footballer.

Baffoe grew up near to the former West German capital of Bonn and made a name for himself in the 1980s in the Bundesliga.

The much-travelled Baffoe played for clubs on four different continents. He spent the majority of his career in the German. Now, he is a successful repat and a business manager in Ghana.
