The multiple award-winning singer has accused Kwame Anokye, an upcoming artiste, of impersonating his looks and performing at shows in his name.
Daddy Lumba has, therefore, dragged his ‘look alike’ to court, requesting that he is stopped from either using his name or performing his songs at any event.
“It is also the case of the plaintiff that the name Daddy Lumba is a household name in the eyes of Ghanaians and the international community as a popular and an accomplished musician who is sought after,” a writ served to the court said.
It added: “The Plaintiff says apart from occasional TV appearances and major social events, he is someone who is hardly seen and therefore the general public is likely to accept anyone who misrepresents himself as plaintiff in the form of imitating his way of life.”
The accused, Kwame Anokye, has previously revealed that he holds huge affection for Daddy Lumba and doesn’t mind imitating him.
