This was revealed by the Health Minister, Alex Segbefia when he appeared before parliament to brief Members on the disease.
He said "In the area of surveillance, case management, laboratory testing, coordination and advocacy as well as social mobilisation are ongoing across the country and these are beginning to bear fruits."

The Minister added that he will soon receive a greater part of some ₵200,000 that has been released by the Ministry of health to control the situation, particularly in the Brong Ahafo region.

The disease which began in Tain in the Brong Ahafo region in December 2015, has spread to other areas including the Brong Ahafo, Northern, Ashanti, Eastern, Volta, Greater Accra, Upper West, Upper East and Western regions.
