His elders son has shown glimpses of his father's great football talent, as he even led his school to win an International School football competition organised in Accra.

Stephen Appiah was the first Black Stars skipper to qualify Ghana for the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
And he is currently working as the Technical Coordinator of the Black Stars.
