The NFL is investigating allegations Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was sent human growth hormone (HGH), league spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to Omnisport on Wednesday.
In December, Al Jazeera reported that Manning's wife, Ashley, received HGH from a clinic in Indianapolis, where the family lived at the time.
The five-time NFL MVP vehemently denied using or receiving HGH.
"We said that we would look into the allegations at the time the story came out," McCarthy said in an email to Omnisport.

"The review is ongoing and comprehensive. It involves obtaining and reviewing numerous records, conducting multiple interviews and working with other entities. We do not comment on the specifics of these matters until the review is completed."
McCarthy said the probe will not be completed before Super Bowl 50 on February 7, where the Broncos will face the Carolina Panthers in what could be Manning's final game.
ESPN reported the NFL declined to co-operate with Major League Baseball and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency in their joint investigation of the Al Jazeera report that also named MLB players.
However, McCarthy rejected those claims, saying the entities are working together.
