An Accra-based businessman, Farouk Saka, and his family are in distress following a series of calls he has received from unknown phone numbers threatening him, his wife, and their children. The threats were reported to the Accra Central District Police.

Saka, who is the Chief Executive Officer of FK One Ventures, a company operating in the central district of the capital city, stated that he received a strange call one morning while at work. The unknown caller explicitly threatened to kill him and his “lesbian” wife, accusing him of providing financial assistance to certain politicians.

Saka’s 37-year-old wife, Jamilatu Abdul Karim, with whom he has four children, was previously attacked and beaten to a pulp at Kasoa Nyanyano by a group of thugs. The attackers alleged that they had caught her with a supposed lesbian partner, one Fati Adams, in the act.

She vehemently denied the allegations, which were strongly refuted by her husband. Saka, who has been married to Jamilatu for 12 years, expressed unwavering trust in his wife and her commitment to their marriage.Farouk Saka believes the threatening phone calls accusing him of offering financial incentives to certain politicians are merely a cover-up by faceless individuals close to him who still harbor grudges against him for defending his wife and proclaiming her innocence. Sensing danger and fearing for the safety of his wife and children, Saka rushed to the Accra Central District Police Station in Tudu to lodge a formal complaint and involve law enforcement.

The Police promptly opened a case and proceeded to the complainant’s office as part of a swiftly launched investigation. This development was brought to the attention of this reporter. According to a Police report dated December 9, 2024, and signed by ASP Patrick Adu Boateng, Accra Central District Commander:“Upon receipt of the report, a statement was obtained from the complainant. The Police visited the complainant’s shop but did not encounter any suspicious characters.”

The report further indicated that the case is under investigation, with D/C/Inspector Kingsley Kwame Kissi leading the inquiry.
