Npp bold ladies, Eastern region expresses great disappiontment with gang of 15 MPs

The NPP Bold Ladies of the Eastern Region has become aware of a statement issued by some 15 NPP members of parliament. Earlier on, this same group, led by Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, MP for Achiase, had publicly declared support for Dr. Bawumia at a press conference here in the region.

The meaningless statement gives true meaning to why Speaker Bagnin on July 10, 2024, contended that "the public has low regard for MPs because they behave like kindergarten pupils, and until they change their conduct, Parliament will suffer in the eyes of Ghanaians. His comments highlighted his disappointment with the conduct of the MPs, who he felt were failing to uphold the dignity of the parliamentary institution. Sadly, looking at how these 15 MPs are behaving, it appears the advice has eluded them.

We have followed the operations of these MPs and listened to them, and we now understand their motive. We wish to register our disapproval towards their actions and assure them that we shall not allow them to mortgage the future of the region and the party at large for their personal gains or gratification. They should be advised that hate and envy can't and won't win.

Firstly, we wish to state that many of our members are also polling station executives and are aware of the enormous support that Dr. Bryan Acheampong continues to offer the party. We know for a fact that in the just-ended general elections, Dr. Bryan made available personal monies to be shared at our various polling stations to facilitate their campaigns. Many of our members have confirmed receiving the support, just that they were not informed about the source. Some, however, have not received and have expressed anger at some MPs. Going round the constituencies anytime Dr. Acheampong mentions the support offered, it becomes evident that many of the MPs have pocketed the money.

As a group, we are disappointed in the MPs for thinking about themselves and not the party and call on them to refund the monies to the constituency party.

We also urge our MPs to rather express their gratitude and commend Dr. Bryan Acheampong. He has done what many could not and did not do.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong's campaign is anchored on truth, honesty, transparency, and party unity. He has shone light and exposed certain undesirable occurrences within our body politic, which exposure has ruffled some feathers and caused great discomfort for some elements within our ranks.

Indeed, how honest disclosures about financial support he offered to the various constituencies, made in closed-door engagements with party executives, caused disaffection for some, beats our imagination.

We want to tell our 15 MPs that they have lost the plot and missed the road. They must be aware that we are many, and they are few.

We shall fight for Dr. Bryan, and we shall fight for our party.
