Ghanaians tear into Nana Addo following his solidarity message for New York

President Akufo-Addo has become the subject of criticism after tweeting on the New York terrorist attacks.

President Akufo-Addo is currently on the receiving end of strong criticism from a section of Ghanaians after tweeting a message of solidarity towards victims of the New York attack.

In a post, the Ghana president condemned terrorist attacks on the people of New York, which led to many deaths and injuries.

In showing solidarity to the victims, Akufo-Addo tweeted: “We stand in solidarity with the city of New York in condemning the activities of terrorists.”

However, not many are enthused by the President’s comments, with some social media users chiding him for failing to show the same level of solidarity towards other neighboring African countries that have also been subjected to terrorist attacks.

Subsequently, his Twitter feed was flooded with comments of criticism, with others also describing his message as “hypocritical”.
