Mourinho predicts good season for Jordan Ayew

The Red Devils’ manager believes the striker will thrive once Swansea’s influential injured players return.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has backed Jordan Ayew to improve upon his form, opining he expects the Ghanaian to do better when his injured Swansea teammates return.

Jordan and his Swansea side have not had the ideal start to the Premier League season, with the club managing just a point from two games.

The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Swansea lost 4-0 to a rampant Manchester United side last Sunday, and was unfortunate not to get on the score sheet after seeing his early strike hit the crossbar.

The performance of the Swans, though, impressed Jose Mourinho, who has predicted a strong season for the club’s attackers, including Jordan.

According to the Portuguese coach, the return of Fernando Llorente should see the Swansea attack pose a “different threat”.

Jordan joined the Liberty Stadium outfit in January following a brief stint with Championship side Aston Villa.
