The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) will soon introduce an Internship Module for graduates.
Under the module, graduates would be registered to enable them undertake an internship with the various metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies and credible private institutions in the country.
Director of YEA, Mr Mohammed Pelpuo said this module is aimed at preparing graduates to acquire the requisite job experiences in their field of studies to enable them meet the demands of employers.
Mr Pelpou explained that tertiary graduates would be targeted and rational beneficiaries would be under training for two years in addition with the one year National Service to prepare them for the job market.
To eliminate discriminations, he said names that would be provided by agencies or companies would not be accepted by YEA and urged the public to go through the right channel to be absorbed onto the module.
Mr Pelpou said the module would help curb graduate unemployment since beneficiaries would be at the first point of call when there is any opportunity in the agency.
He called on other agencies and credible private entities to submit their requirements to the YEA so as to enroll more youth onto the module.
