El Cuerpo del Deseo, popularly known as Second Chance, is one of the earliest shown Spanish telenovelas in Ghana. It made an appearance in the Ghanaian TV space in 2008. Till date, Second Chance manages to pop up whenever telenovelas are discussed.&nbsp;

This Spanish TV series premiered in March, 2012 on United Television (UTV). It was among the most watched TV series that existed in the media space. According to the Ghana film industry, it was the most searched for TV series in Ghana in 2015.&nbsp;

This Spanish-language Mexican TV series, originally known as Mar de Amor, began premiering in Ghana in 2009 on one of the major TV stations. This series revolved around a few powerful themes including heartbreak, love, seduction, depression among others that collectively made it more enticing and enjoyable. Popular characters like Estrella, Victor Manuel, Guillermo, Coral, etc. obviously understood their assignment.&nbsp;&nbsp;

This telenovela was one of the most talked about Mexican series here in Ghana. It had a bit of drama and portrayed a battle between greed, love, and destiny. It began showing on Viasat1 television in January, 2010. It’s been eleven years down the line and most Ghanaians still talk about it.&nbsp;

<ul><li>Wild at Heart (Corazón Indomable)</li></ul>

This telenovela which started premiering in 2013 on United Television (UTV) is amongst the most watched foreign shows in Ghana. It was eventually nicknamed Maricruz, after one of the major characters in the show and was the talk of every day that it was shown.&nbsp;

This Philippines TV series began premiering in Ghana on TV Africa in December, 2013. It had a wonderful storyline which portrayed two of the main characters, Mara and Clara, separated after birth with one of them being raised up in a rich home and the other in a poor home. Their identities were later revealed and you can imagine the drama that followed.&nbsp;

This is one of the most talked about telenovelas that gripped the hearts of several Ghanaians. It was shown on Adom TV and had a huge viewership base probably due to the fact that the characters ‘spoke’ one of the local languages – twi to be precise. <ul><li>Cooking oil</li><li>5 tablespoons powdered pepper</li><li>5 tablespoons powdered fish</li><li>3 tablespoons powdered shrimp</li><li>2 onion bulbs</li><li>1 sachet of tomato paste (optional)</li><li>Salt</li></ul>

<ul><li>Boil water in saucepan over high heat. Put in peanuts and allow to boil for about 3 minutes.</li><li>Strain boiled peanuts and spread out on a baking tray to dry.&nbsp;</li><li>Beat eggs and pour over dried peanuts in baking tray.&nbsp;</li><li>Whisk half of the flour, sugar, nutmeg, baking powder, powdered pepper and powdered black pepper, and pinch of salt.&nbsp;</li><li>Pour the mixture onto the coated peanuts. <ul><li>Wash, boil and blend garden eggs, turkey berries, 1 onion bulb, green pepper, and tomatoes in a separate saucepan. Amount to use will depend on the amount of light soup to be prepared.</li><li>Blend garlic and ginger</li><li>Cut meat to desired sizes and wash thoroughly.</li></ul>

Mince a few cloves of garlic and add to olive oil, coconut oil or any hair oil you use. Leave the mixture to sit overnight. Apply to the scalp and the whole length of your hair, down to its ends. Rinse thoroughly with water after about 20 to 30 minutes.&nbsp;

In an interview with Yaw, a young man who was introduced to sign up, he said he had to pull out after realizing things were not adding up.

“I went for a QNET presentation at a location that I want to keep private,” Yaw told Pulse.com.gh.

“I didn’t find their home settings favourable in the sense that, I noted little things which reversed my intention to sign up to QNET. I realized their testimonial footage they filmed to show us looked staged and unreal.”

Another person who would like to stay anonymous gave a full account of her experience:

“A friend reached out to me on how to make quick money. Even though I was sceptical about this move I needed that money badly. As early as 4 am I left Haatso to Kasoa to the QNET office for an interview.&nbsp;

“When I got to the entrance of the office, I saw a lot of youth there that made me comfortable a bit but I must confess, where the venue is situated is not a place anyone who loved to go alone. A solitary place with a handful of building around.

“I got in and saw a man who looked like he was on a food strike. So lean and looked very unkempt teaching a group of people obviously on how to scam. I was offered a seat when I entered and told to wait for my turn for the interview.&nbsp;

“I got into the office for the interview and it was all so funny. Looking at a man whom I thought should be organised has bleached from head to toe. His knuckles, alone got me wondering if I was at the right place.&nbsp;

“The interview ended earlier than I thought, asking me for my background details and if I can make sales. They made it look like it was a network company where I had to get to people and also sign people on. I thought that was the end of the interview until he told me I can only get the jot after I pay GHS 4000.

“Onua! If I had that money I wouldn't come there at all. I left the office and I had my friend convincing me to quickly sign up and start. He said it's very lucrative and he has got enough to even start his own business.

“He advised that I borrow money from people to make payment which I didn't because of that he never spoke to me again.

“Anuanom today this guy dey br3 papa. Dem chop am koraa and he doesn't know how to scam even though he was taken through scamming lessons.”

These innocent people who fall into the hands of network marketing schemes like QNET due to unemployment lose huge sums of money they acquire through loans or savings.&nbsp;

Also, other people are at a risk of being dragged into this fraudulent ‘money-sucking’ chain.&nbsp;
