<h2>Nollywood actor, Timini Egbuson was the highest-grossing Nigerian actor in 2023 according to new data from the film distribution and production company, FilmOne.</h2>

The actors on the list were featured in some of the highest-grossing movies in 2023. See who top the list below:

<h3>10. Charles Okafor (₦126 million)</h3>

Okafor’s career in the entertainment industry spans over three decades. He made his acting debut in 1991 in the Nollywood film, Domitilla. He gained prominence in the industry with his role in the hit film, End of the Wicked, which was released in 1999. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Okafor’s performance earned him widespread praise. Okafor only appeared in one Nollywood film Ada Omo Daddy in 2023.

Okanlawon made his feature film debut in 2010 with the film, ZR-7, he went on to feature in and co-produce many more short films. He is best known for his roles in Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Blood Sisters, and King of Boys: The Return of the King. Okanlawon was previously listed as the highest-grossing Nollywood actor of 2020 and 2021. He featured in five Nollywood films, Love in a Pandemic, Domitillla, Different Strokes, Osato, and Maniac, in 2023.

Ayo Makun is a comedian, and filmmaker, who directed and acted in the Nigerian sitcom, AY's Crib. He made his first big screen film debut in 2014 with the film, 30 Days in Atlanta. A.Y was featured in only two Nollywood films, Merry Men 3, and Almajiri, in 2023.

The Nollywood actor and filmmaker rose to prominence after starring in the film, Deadly Affair (1995). He has since been featured in multiple Nollywood films over the years including, Stigma, Secret Act, The Snake Girl, and Not Man Enough. Ike was featured in one Nollywood movie in 2023 called Malaika.

Stan Nze began his acting career onstage plays He has been featured in the popular television show, Tinsel and tons of other Nollywood projects. Afamefuna, Domitilla, The Trade, and A Weekend to Forget are the four Nollywood films Nze featured in 2023.

Achufusi began his acting career by playing supporting roles in Nollywood films Poka Messiah, Black Rose, Pretty Little Thing, Ofu Obi and A Lonely Lane. He got his breakthrough in 2019 by playing the charismatic Nnamdi Okeke in the movie Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, which earned him a Best Actor nomination and a Trailblazer Award, both at the AMVCA in 2020. Achufusi was featured in two Nollywood films in 2023 that include, A Tribe Called Judah and Ifediche.

<h2>The organisers of Big Brother Naija have come under pressure from the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN) over delayed prizes for Phyna, the season 7 winner of the show.</h2>

Phyna expressed her dissatisfaction with the show on Instagram on Monday, April 8, 2024, saying that she had not yet received some of the prizes for winning the show. “I just really want my BTC. It’s worth over ₦90m. I can’t leave it. Also, the trip for 2 is very important,” she said.

PCCSIGN said in a letter that it has since gone viral that they are dissatisfied with the situation.

“We, the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild (PCCSIGN) write to you on behalf of Ijeoma Josephina Otabor known as “Phyna’, a valued member of our guild, regarding the outstanding debts owed by Quidax Global – 1BTC= $70, 052.00, Seven-Up Bottling Company (Pepsi)-1 year supply of Pepsi products, Travelbeta – A trip for 2 to Dubai, and Evans Industries (Unik Soap) – 1 year supply of soap product, which constitute part of the prizes she won as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7 (Level Up), held from July 23rd to October 2nd, 2022,” PCCSIGN said.

However, after a conversation with the organisers of the show, a new letter from the PCCSIGN said that delays in the remittance of the prizes have been solved except for the 1 BTC from Quidax Global, a crypto company that sponsored the season in 2022.

“On behalf of the Practitioners of Content Creation, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild (PCCSIGN), we write to you regarding our previous correspondence with your organisation concerning Phyna's outstanding debts. We extend our appreciation for your prompt resolution response concerning the debts owed by MultiChoice Nigeria, encompassing Seven-Up Bottling Company (Pepsi), Travelbeta, and Evans Industries (UNIK Soap),” PCCSIGN said.

“While we await a response from MultiChoice Nigeria regarding Quidax Global and the '1 BTC' promised to the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7 (Level Up) housemate, we implore your esteemed brand to honour its commitments and settle the outstanding debt owed to Phyna within three (3) days. Failure to do so will compel us to escalate this matter publicly and pursue legal action against your company,” the letter added.
