Guus Hiddink lauds tactically gifted Ghanaian defender

Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink heaps praise and offers advice for Ghanaian defender Abdul Baba Rahman ahead of Manchester City game

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has lauded Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman ahead of their FA Cup game against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Ghanaian defender replaced injured Chelsea captain John Terry in the English Premier League game against Newcastle United last weekend before maintaining his position at left back for the UEFA Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

Baba Rahman received some good plaudits on social media for his performance and composure against Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s team.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s top FA Cup game between Chelsea and Manchester City, Guus Hiddink said on Abdul Baba Rahman:

He’s [Abdul Baba Rahman] is a gifted player, tactically good and very calm going forward. He has to focus on his tracking back.”

The Chelsea boss also confirmed he will hardly make any chances for the game against Manchester City as he takes the FA Cup competition very seriously.

Hiddink also stressed that while losing captain of the side, John Terry is a huge blow, he has complete confidence in his replacements as proven in the game against French Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Baba Rahman who joined Chelsea at the beginning of the season from German Bundesliga side Augsburg is set to keep his spot at left full back for the game against Manchester City.
