A statement signed by the National Coordinator of the policy, Gifty Ohene Konadu, said the launch of the program will be in fulfilment of the president’s pledge to industrialize Ghana’s economy.
“The launch will include a sod-cutting to begin the construction of Ekumfi Fruit Processing Company Factory which will process pineapples for the local and international market,” the statement said.
Currently the company cultivates the fruits and seeks to expand its operations into processing.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the company, Mr Daniel Kwarteng, has said “the introduction of the policy has motivated us to speed up and implement our plans of processing the fruits into various other products.”
