Uhuru Kenyatta wins presidential poll

Mr Kenyatta secured 54 percent ahead of his rival Raila Odinga who had 44 percent.

The election was largely judged as free and fair by the elections observer mission.

The opposition National Super Alliance boycotted the release of the final results saying they had concerns which the electoral commission failed to address.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Kenyatta reached out to Mr Odinga and his supporters.

He said in every competition, there will be losers and winners, saying "this country needs all of us together in other to suceed."

Meanwhile, a senior opposition official, James Orengo, has hinted of challenging the results in the court.

"Nobody should think this is the end of the matter," he said.
