Nii Lantey Vanderpuye hosted 2 Korean boxers who are on 6-months training tour in Ghana

Minister of Sports,

Led by Gh Bosslink Sports Promotions President, Collins-Bio Donkor, Lee Kyu Suk and Jeon Byung Yun who arrived in Accra last month were warmly welcomed to his office and indeed the country by Hon. Vanderpuye as he outlined his own comprehensive plans to arrest the flagging fortunes of a sport he describes as his first love.

“This is wonderful, I am so excited for such initiative because these relationships are good, it will help the clubs and the boxers,” the clearly elated Sports Minister said.

“Boxing in Ghana, it has to take your own passion because it doesn’t pay. It’s not something that when you put your money in so I’m excited when people invest in it especially the young ones. I will support you and I will encourage you,” Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye opined.

Collins-Bio Donkor took time to explain to the Ghanaian sports chief the objectives of the presence of the Koreans in the country amid revealing his outfit’s commitment to promoting and developing sports as a whole in Ghana.

“I was in Korea on sports business and we agreed a partnership because they are also into boxing so they decided to come to Ghana to train and hone their skills here. They have also agreed to come and build a gum here in Ghana for the purpose of eradicating street children and train them to be professional boxers,” Mr. Donkor said.

In the end, Hon. Vanderpuye expressed excitement at the interaction and reiterated his commitment to help revive the fistic sport which he says has sunk low.

“Boxing is my own sport, it’s my first love. I was a boxer before I went into football so I’m always excited about boxing so you can count on my support everytime. I thank you for coming, my doors are always open,” the Sports Minister assured.
