Ghana is the home of Afrobeats – so, it’s no doubt hundreds of Afro-pop records were dropped this year.

Just like last year, Afropop hacked the airwaves, dominated local charts and continued to serve the global market.

From Shatta Wale’s infectious “Umbrella” that got the whole country crazy to Fancy Gadam’s “Total Cheats” that proved why great talents are buried in Northern Ghana, 2017 has been another successful year for Afrobeats performers.

Pulse Ghana’s entertainment editor, David Mawuli, has picked 10 of the best Afropop songs released this year.
