Michale David, a 31-year-old businessman based in Lagos, has been docked for stabbing his wife, Onyinyechi, to death over allegations of infidelity.

A Lagos based businessman has been arraigned in court for stabbing his wife to death over infidelity allegations.
David who has been charged for murder before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates' Court, who resides at No. 24, Ojoku Street, Olodi Apapa area of the state, allegedly got into a furious mood during a fight over his wife seeing another man and picked up a kitchen knife with which he stabbed the woman several times, making sure she was dead before he was satisfied.
According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Ajayi, the accused committed the crime on April 7, 2015, at his residence, thereby committing an offence that contravenes Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, which prescribes a death sentence for offenders.
“David confronted the deceased over allegations that she was cheating on him, a fight ensued leading him to stab his wife to death.”
The Chief Magistrate, O.O. Olatunji, refused to grant him bail and instead, ordered that he be remanded at the Ikoyi Prison pending the receipt of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
