A 28-year-old Nigerian man must have regretted displaying his affection towards daughter of a king after he was arrested and charged with assault on the princess by kissing her in public.

Reports say Fidelis Michael and princess Dolapo met at a market in Ejigbo area of Lagos, and apparently having missed each other, they got cosy and ended up kissing.

The king got angry upon hearing about the development and ordered his aides to arrest Fidelis and hand him over to the police for prosecution.

He deemed it sacrilegious for the young man to have the guts to fondle his daughter, in a market of all places.

Fidelis was reportedly arraigned before the Ejigbo Magistrates court where the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

However, he was remanded in prison custody until the bail condition is met.

The matter was adjourned till December 3, 2018 when his fate is expected to be determined.
