Re-arrested jail breakers sentenced

The two, Kofi Agayre popularly known as Bongo, and Iddrisu Yahaya who is also known as K2, were sentenced to three years each in jail.

The two Kofi Agayre, popularly known as Bongo, and Iddrisu Yahaya who is also known as K2, were sentenced to three years each in jail.

Six suspected criminals escaped from the custody of the Abofour Police on Tuesday (July 19, 2016). Subsequently the District Police Commander Superintendent Michael Boateng gave a 10-day ultimatum to the security personnel on duty to produce the escapees. The command also mounted a search for them. This led to the re-arrest of the two who have been sentenced today.

The District Commander said they are still on a manhunt for the other 4 escapees. One of the four escapees, Akwasi Grumah, was standing trial for committing murder. The remaining three suspects Kwame Frimpong, aka Rambo; Pasoley Mahmound and Baba Evans were been prosecuted for alleged stealing.
