Military command centre relocated to Maiduguri to combat terrorists

Following a directive given by President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s military command and control centre has been relocated to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital from Abuja.

News of the relocation was disclosed by army spokesperson, Colonel Sani Usman, according to BBC.

"The team has already commenced work in earnest," Usman said in a statement adding that all senior military officers would also relocate to the North-East.

Borno has suffered the worst of the insurgency which has claimed thousands of lives and left many more homeless.
