7 common causes of Erectile Dysfunction

If you are a man and you unable to get and maintain an erection, it may be due to these simple causes...

Stress is a major cause of erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is the inability of a man to have or maintain an erection hard enough to have sexual intercourse.

It's a common condition but most times an unserious one. Having erection trouble from time to time isn't necessarily something to worry about especially when you know there is no cause for alarm.

Erectile dysfunction happens when blood flow is limited (e.g by health problems) or the nerves in the penis are damaged (in which case you should for seek medical attention)

Sometimes, erectile dysfunction is caused by these common factors:

1.  Alcohol

Heavy alcohol use is a major and common cause of erectile dysfunction. Too much alcohol in the system interfere with erections but the good thing is this is usually temporary.

2. Depression

Depression reduces your desire to have sex which can lead to erectile dysfunction. When the 'head' is depressed, the mood finds its way down there as well, leading to the condition.

3. Medicine/treatments

Some drugs (if you are on some sort of medication for instance due to certain health concerns) hinders effective performance hence erectile dysfunction.

4. Everyday stress

When everyday tiredness, stress, hustle and bustle get to you/stress takes its toll on the body and the penis as well.

5. Low Libido

A man who has a low libido will find it difficult to get or keep up an erection.

6. Anger/Anxiety

Anger contributes to performance problems for men as this (the mood) inhibits a hardon. Anxiety and worrying also get in the way of maintaining an erection. As mentioned above, the state of mind reflects 'penile function'

7. Health State

The state of one's health also greatly determines performance. A sick (depends on the nature of the sickness) guy for instance may find getting and maintaining erection difficult.

If you notice this goes on, get medical help.
