Any rider or driver found to have violated this prohibition may lose access to the Uber platform.

The company has overturned its previous policy that allowed drivers and riders to carry a firearm, as long as they had a valid permit for the weapon.
What this means is that drivers and riders are no longer allowed to carry weapons during taxi rides.
Uber's Firearms prohibition policy, posted on its websites, reads "We seek to ensure that everyone using the Uber digital platform—both driver-partners and riders—feels safe and comfortable using the service. During a ride arranged through the Uber platform, Uber and its affiliates therefore prohibit possessing firearms of any kind in a vehicle. Any rider or driver found to have violated this prohibition may lose access to the Uber platform."
Uber says the change is predicated on its desire to make the service experience an exciting one for both the riders and drives alike.
Individuals who take rides with their weapons, stand a risk of being barred from the Uber platform.
