The manager of the West African Gas Pipeline Company has confirmed his outfit will curtail supply of gas to Ghana come end of day Thursday if the 103 million dollars owed it by the Volta River Authority is not paid by Friday.
According to the manager of the west African Gas Pipeline, the debt is negatively affecting operations of the gas pipeline company that it has no option but to curtail supply of gas to the country.

Addressing the press on Wednesday concerning the issue in Accra, Managing Director of the company, Walter Perez said, the Volta River Authority has been owing the West African Gas Pipeline and N Gas from Nigeria an amount of 181 million dollars since August 2014.

Meanwhile, calls are being made for government institutions to pay their debts owed the Electricity Company of Ghana to the tune of over GHC 1.5 million. Coordinator and head of research at the Integrated Social Development Center, Dr. Steve Maneau has emphasized that all monies owed WAGPCO and N Gas can easily be redeemed if government will pay its debt to ECG who will in turn redeem its debt obligations to VRA.

ECG owes the VRA and other power providers in the country like the Asogli Thermal Plant 100 million dollars.
