Coach Kwesi Appiah meets President Akufo-Addo

Appiah, 56 will start work on May 1, after his appointment as Black Stars coach to replace Avram Grant.
Kwesi Appiah appointment was welcomed by the new government and majority of Ghanaians who were fed up with foreign coaches.

The former Black skipper, following his arrival at the Kotoka Airport on Friday, April 21, 2017, expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of Ghana, the GFA and the general public for his appointment.
Wednesday's meeting with President Akufo-Addo was the first for Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah since the Nana Addo's election to power.
Kwesi Appiah was the first indigene to qualify the Black Stars for the FIFA World Cup in 2014, but he was sacked following his team's poor display at the Mundial.
