The Ghana international, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer, is yet to make an appearance under Chelsea's interim manager, Guus Hiddink, and featured only nine times when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
And now, according to reports, Augsburg have made contact with Chelsea about bringing Rahman back to Germany.
Chelsea are currently contemplating on whether to allow the left-back to leave just six months after they shelled out £21m on him.
Should Augsburg lodge a bid in the region of £10m, then Chelsea are expected to agree a switch and end Rahman's miserable spell in the Premier League.
