The Phobians preparations towards the Ghana premier league have been shambolic after conceding 9 goals in three separate friendly. First was a 4-1 loss to WAFA and a 5-0 aggregate loss to Al Ahly in Libya.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi who took charge of the Accra giants three months ago has been under severe pressure to deliver the needed results for the former premier league champions.

Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars will be meeting for the first time in an off-season competition but it looks like the odds are against the Phobians as they have not won a game in their last six visits at the Western Region. Their last visit in the region was last season’s league against Medeama SC which ended goalless draw at the T&A Park in Tarkwa.

But Hearts of Oak winger Thomas Abbey believes they will end their poor run of results in the Western Region in their opening G6 game against Aduana Stars.

“We know that we have not been performing well when we visit the Western Region. Playing Aduana Stars in our opening fixture in the tourney will be extremely difficult but we are going into the game with one aim because all the odds are against us but trust Hearts of Oak to come out as winners,” Abbey told Pulse Ghana Sports ahead of this evening clash.

However, the Dormaa based club shot stopper Stephen Adams confidently told Pulse Ghana Sports: “It will be a tough game, but we have the best materials to gun Hearts of Oak down, we know they have the support but we are not afraid of that. Winning the competition is our aim and we are starting with Hearts of Oak.”

The kick off time for the game between Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars is at 6:30pm at the Essipong Sports Stadium.
