Mr Sannie Daara was speaking on the Sunday Night Live show on GTV and was very much disappointed and angered by the instances in the league where clubs prevented broadcast sponsors from airing games live.

The disciplinary committee last fined Aduana Stars 1000 cedis for not allowing Star Times to air a game against Asante Kotoko.

Mr Sannie Daara did state that the fine punishment was not stiff enough.

“The staking point is that people are so burnt in doing it to the extent that if you fine these clubs they will say the clubs will say they will willingly pay the fine”.

Mr Sannie Daara also said a more punitive measure will be the deduction of points.

“I will like to ask the clubs themselves, are we happy with the situation where we find ourselves with those sponsors and going forward what can we do to prevent this?

“The only language the clubs understand is the deduction of points. Nobody will try this if they know points will be deducted.

“The Disciplinary committee can do anything outside the law but we have to decide when we are going to congress and we will have to get the clubs to say we want to change the law to move with modern times.”

He also went on to speak on how this attitude from clubs will hurt the sponsorship of the league

“If not we have a situation where a broadcast sponsor comes on board and after to three years the sponsor goes.

“We have to crack the whip so that years later these same clubs don’t come crying that we are suffering because GFA failed to get sponsors but what did the clubs do to retain these sponsors when they came.”
