Waris scores in Lorient stalemate

Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris was on target for Lorient as Stade Rennais FC came from two goals down to draw 2-2 in a Brittany derby match.

Lorient were in control away to their local rivals as Fallou Diagne put through his own net before Majeed Waris put Lorient 2-0 up in the 22nd minute, pouncing to score after Benoît Costil could only turn a Yann Jouffre ball out into his path.

However, a fine individual effort from Ousmane Dembele 13 minutes later gave the home side hope.

Jeremie Boga then smashed in from long range in the 41st minute to cap Rennes' comeback and seal a remarkable first half of French football.
