A 26-year-old self-styled freelance writer who used the popular online marketplace, Tonaton, to lure and snatch two mobile phones and GHC 6,000 from someone, has been arrested.

The suspect, Reinier Plahar, had shown interest in the mobile phones, Iphone 6S and lured the victim to the University of Professional Studies where after examining the phone bolted in a car together with the victim's GHC6,000.

He, however, left behind a lady. Plahar was giving the lady, who was on her way to Alpha Hospital, a lift. She was consequently arrested as an accomplice but was later given bailed.

According to report by TV3, on December 11, 2015,  while the lady was returning from work, she spotted Plahar in the same vehicle, with registration number GN 1161-14,  and reported to a Police Patrol team which managed to arrest him.

The Legon District Crime Officer, ASP Fleischer-Ackon, who briefed TV3 expressed concern over the rate at which people are abusing the internet market, and urged both people who deal on the platform to be conscious of their security.
