The ‘Wonder Club’ were one of the pioneers of the Ghana League in the 1950’s and until 2004 they had not faced relegation before.

Gt. Olympics suffered a big blow in the 2004 novelty league when they got relegated for the very first time in their history.

And since then they have been outsiders in the GPL- They got relegated again in the 2007-08, 2009-10 2014-15 and 2017-18.

One thing that has affected the two times champions of Ghana over the years has been division in the team and the just ended season is no exception.

The power wrangling between their coach, Godwin Attram and the management of the club, after he was relegated to assistant coaching role had a toll on the team.

Gt. Olympics have lost their shine and they would have to do a lot to redeem their past glory.
