Sacking of Abeiku Santana as tourism ambassador draws mixed reaction

The decision by the Ministry of  Tourism, Arts and Culture to stop recognising ward winning broadcast journalist and Tourism Management Consultant, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, as one of the country’s National Tourism Ambassadors has been met with mixed reactions.

The statement further said, “For the avoidance of doubt, the list includes the following persons: Agya Koo, Cindy Thompson, Diana Asamoah, Reggie N’ Bollie, Fuse ODG, Okyeame Kwame, D Black, Van Vicker, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Lucky Mensah, Sam Okyere, Fancy Gadam, Dada KD, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Wiyala, Stephen Appiah, Leo Mensah, Andy Dosty, Bibi Bright, Sena Dagadu, Yvonne Nelson, Daddy Lumba, Shrifa Gunu, Paa John Dadson, Sarkodie, Azmera Asabea Kropa and Abedi Ayew Pele. “

However, the non-inclusion of the ace broadcaster, who is a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, has generated mixed reactions from Pulse.com.gh readers on Facebook.

Kwesi Vinny said: "This is what happens if your party leaves power. What's wrong with maintaining Abeiku who had gone to study Tourism and hospitality at the [University]? No worries [brother], your reputation still runs on."

Akosua Asarebea Mensah said: "What ever they are doing doesn't make sense. Ghana should just rise above these petty issues.I just don't support this one. And there's no better reason for leaving him out. This is a job to promote Ghana and it should include anyone who can do better job regardless of what party they belong to. Ghana should grow up. This is not right."
