Atsu hails Messi as the 'greatest ever'

Christian Atsu has heaped praise on Lionel Messi by branding him as the greatest player of all time.

The Barcelona superstar, who has been linked with a ground-breaking move to Manchester City, has set the Nou Camp and the world alight with his dazzling displays since breaking into the Barca team in 2004.

Messi, 28, has won the Ballon d’Or once and the Fifa Ballon d’Or three times during his phenominal career.

And Ghana international Atsu has hailed the forward’s impact as the best he has seen.

Atsu in an interniew with Cross the Line said: “When I was growing up in Ghana, the one I was looking up to was Lionel Messi.”

“I think he is the greatest footballer and I think that he’s also very humble.”
