An eight-year girl met her untimely death after a seven-bedroom house at Choggu Yapalsi in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region was razed down by fire.

According to the owner of the house, the fire, which started at about 11:30 pm on Wednesday, lasted for about three hours before fire officers were able to control the blaze.

The Fire Service have began investigations into the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, the mortal remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.
