Ghana international scores twice against Zamalek

John Antwi started the scoring in the 3 minute after he capitalized on an unpardonable mistake from the Zamalek goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy.

But, left back Moayad Ajan scored the equalizing goal for the White Castle, as he placed an accurate free-kick into the far corner of El-Maqassa’s net.

Six minutes later, Antwi regained the lead for the Fayoum-based club as he blasted the ball past El-Shennawy from a close range, ending the first as a 2-1 lead for El-Maqassa.

Just two minutes after the restart, Zamalek’s Mohamed Ashraf ‘Rouka’ came close to even things out once again, however, his shot hit the post.

In the 49th minute, Kasongo scored a goal for the Whites, but it was ruled out for offside.

Seconds later, Ayman Hefny sent Abdullah Gomaa through, however, the young winger failed to get his shot on target.

Five minutes to full time, El-Makkasa’s Mahmoud Wahid got sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

In the dying moments of the match, Hussein El-Shahat got his name on the score sheet as he dribbled past El-Shennawy and converted the ball into the back of the net, making it 3-1.

Following the loss, Zamalek currently occupy the third spot with 18 points, while, while El-Makkasa occupy the ninth league spot with 12 points.

The White Knights are set to face Al Ragaa on the 2nd of December, with El-Makkasa facing El-Geish on the 4th of the same month.
