The Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education has announced the governing councils for seven public universities Friday.
The move comes after a High Court in Winneba gave the Ministry of Education 14 days ultimatum for the exercise.
Announcing the constituted councils on Friday, Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary, Prof. Kwesi Yankah, said the councils for the University of Professional Studies, Accra and University of Energy and Natural Resources [UENR] in Sunyani are yet to be constituted.

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology: Prof Emeritus Kwame Sarpong
University of Cape Coast: Mrs Nancy Thompson
University of Education, Winneba: Prof Emmanuel Nicholas Abakah
University of Health and Allied Sciences: Justice Jones Dotse
University of Development Studies: Mr Nutifafa Kuenyehia
University of Mines: Dr. Stephen Saforo Yirenkyi

The vice chancellor and the finance office have been asked to step aside Friday.
The Pro-vice chancellor of the university has been ordered by the court to act in place of these two officers.
The court presided over by Justice George Ato Mills-Graves also ordered that no other person who derives his authority from the two officers should make any payment to a contractor or agency on behalf of the University.
