The implementation of the free SHS education policy begins today, September 11, 2017 as the 2017/2018 academic year starts.

The programme will start with first year students in all public SHSs and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions across the country.

The free SHS policy implies the absorption of all approved fees currently charged to students in public SHS and TVET Institutions.

President Akufo-Addo announced that government will fund the cost of the high school system for all who qualify into the 2017/2018 academic year.

He explained that the policy would cover tuition fees, feeding, textbooks, free boarding as well as no charges for utility, computer and science labs or examination fees.

Mzbel prior to the 2016 polls openly endorsed the candidature of former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She is quoted to have said Nana Addo is not a presidential material and Ghanaians should not vote for him.

But Mzbel seem to have changed her mind after the implementation of the free SHS programme which begins today, September 11.

After completing the admission process for her son at Achimota school in Accra, Mzbel on her Facebook wall congratulated Nana Addo for the policy.

She wrote: Free Education here we come!!! It’s actually true oo! Hahaaa Nana well done oo!! Onto the next deal… One Corner One Dancer! Inshallah
