But the chief said that the claims by the woman are untrue.

“I have received a lot of insults because people think I have settled the matter on my own, but that is not the case. We are just intrigued that the doctors had not done the test on the 4-yr old girls to ascertain that she has been defiled, I cannot shield any criminal,” he said.

Meanwhile, Women’s rights advocate, the Alliance for Women in Media Africa (AWMA) is demanding justice for the four-year-old girl.

In a petition to the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department, the group demanded the following:

6. Support and protection for the mother and child who may become targets of families and friends of the alleged suspect.

7. The state must declare ZERO TOLERANCE for DEFILEMENT and RAPE. Defilement has a face- It is that of a 4-year-old girl, suffering in ASSIN 3 DADIENTEM. Let not the STATE fail HER and the many others suffering in pain and anger! SIGNED Alliance for Women in Media (AWMA).
