The Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup with the Black Stars B failing to qualify for the CHAN tournament.
However, the Black Stars marked the return of coach James Kwesi Appiah with a great win over Ethiopia and Black Stars B triumphed at the WAFU tournament.
In all this experiences it was the ability or abilities to get the ball at the back of the net that determined our success the various battles we found ourselves in.
We look at the strikers who made Ghanaians appreciate the art of goal scoring at certain points of the year 2017.
Richmond Boakye-Yiadom
The Red Star Belgrade striker had an amazing in the year 2017 but it was one moment that got Ghanaians going berserk this year. Richmond Boakye Yiadom marked his first 2017 appearance for the Black Stars with a brace against Congo at the Kintele Stadium in Brazzaville.
Richmond Boakye-Yiadom got a late call-up into the squad after Raphael Dwamena who was initially called was left out due to issues with his failed transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Stephen Sarfo
The Berekum Chelsea striker was an outcast as he was not called into the squad for the 2018 CHAN qualifiers but he made it happen when he was given the chance in the WAFU tournament.
He emerged the goal king with 4 goals after scoring two goals in the finals against Nigeria to aid Ghana emerge champions of West African Football.

Raphael Dwamena
Dwamena transferred to FC Zurich after failing to make the cut for the 2017 African Cup of Nations. He scored 12 goals in the Swiss League and got picked to play for the Ghana Black Stars a few months after.
He scored a brace on his national debut against Ethiopia in a 2019 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
That 5-0 victory over Ethiopia which marked the beginning of James Kwesi Appiah second stint was one exiting moment of Ghanaian football.
Saddick Adams
The former Atletico Madrid youth player made his way into Kumasi Asante Kotoko for the 2016/2017 season of the Ghana Premier League.
The striker had an average performance with the side in the Ghana Premier League but he managed to cap off the season with a hat trick in the MTN FA Cup final against eternal rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
The 3-1 victory which saw Kotoko beat Hearts to the FA Cup and a Confederation Cup slot got Ghanaians talking on how good Saddick Adams is.

Asamoah Gyan
Asamoah Gyan has not had the best of years with the Ghana Black Stars in 2017 but he did gave us moments that got the Ghanaian populace excited.
Gyan scored a goal against Mali in the 2017 African Cup of Nations Cup to progress Ghana into the 2017 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
He as well scored the first goal against Ethiopia in a 5-0 trashing to become the first Ghanaian player to reach 50 goals for the Ghana Black Stars.
