Ghana making it to the World Cup became part of our lives - Kwesi Nyantakyi

The Preisdent of the Ghana Football Association has expressed utter disappointment on not making it to the World Cup

The President of the Ghana Football Associations, Kwesi Nyantakyi said that Black Stars missing out on the World Cup had come as a huge disappointment to him.

This was hinged on Ghana making it to the world cup on three consecutive occasions and that the qualifying had been a part of Ghana’s football culture for close to a decade.

"Going to the World Cup has become part and parcel of our lives and so, for me, it is an anticlimax.

It is a big disappointment to me as a person and for me as the head of the football association, I think that it is not encouraging at all that we will not be able to respond to the roll call of the world’s biggest footballing nations in Russia.

Kwesi Nyantakyi after acknowledging the disappointment did say we did need that Ghana needs to move on and focus on making to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“But we cannot do anything about it now. We just have to put the past behind us and go back to the drawing board. We have to strategize and look forward to 2022 and ensure that we do not miss the boat the next time.”

Ghana won just 1 game out of six games in the last round of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.
