Family of late ex-Hearts midfielder Uriah Asante receives GH¢10,000 from SIC

Uriah Asante, a former Hearts of Oak midfielder died of cardiac arrest at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on June 2016 after returning from his base in Tunisia where he was playing for CS Sfaxien.

SICLife has presented a cheque of GH¢10,000 to the family of the playmaker at a short ceremony held at the head office of Professional Footballers Association Ghana (PFAG), located at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The head of Marketing of the group Albert Bahun-Wilson indicated that the family of the Uriah Asante has received the cheque because the player was covered by SICLife insurance package for players in the Ghana Premier League which was put in place by the PFAG.

Bahun-Wilson commended the PFAG for their foresight and encouraged other sporting disciplines to take a cue from them.

General Secretary of the PFAG, Anthony Baffoe, commended SICLife and its sister company SIC Insurance for supporting their cause.
