Gillespie, who was previously linked with the England head coach position before the job went to Trevor Bayliss as well as a coaching role with his native Australia, is to return to his homeland.

The 41-year-old's wife and children have already returned to Australia, where Gillespie is coach of Big Bash League side Adelaide Strikers.

Gillespie took over in 2011 and has led Yorkshire to back-to-back County Championship titles in 2014 and 2015. Yorkshire are five points behind Middlesex in their quest for a third consecutive league crown.
