Oceane Dodin made light work of her maiden WTA quarter-final at the Coupe Banque Nationale, beating Alison van Uytvanck in straight sets to continue her fine form.

French teenager Dodin triumphed 6-2 6-4 in Quebec City on Friday, setting up a last-four tie with Julia Boserup.

The latter battled to a 7-6 (7-0) 6-4 victory over fellow American CiCi Bellis and could find herself inside the world's top 100 for the first time.

With all eight seeds having been eliminated prior to the quarter-final stage, the tournament could hardly be more wide open.

Saturday's other semi-final will feature two qualifiers in Lauren Davis and Tereza Martincova.

Davis maintained her perfect record in meetings against Alla Kudryavtseva by prevailing 6-3 7-6 (7-4) against the Russian, while Martincova was a 6-3 7-6 (9-7) winner over Jessica Pegula.
