Andre Ayew: We showed great character

Andre Ayew relishes in Swansea City's team spirit after win against Everton

Ghana international Andre Ayew and his Swansea City side got their first back to back win against Everton in the Premier League for the first time this season.

The former Olympique Marseille player won a penalty for the Welsh club before scoring the winner in the 2-1 victory at Goodison Part on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Swansea City’s top scorer this season, Andre Ayew said:

“It’s a very important three points. It was a very difficult game, and we needed the points to help us out of the situation we are in.

“We know the second half wasn’t very beautiful on our part, but we showed a lot of spirit. We stayed in the game until the end and managed to hold our one-goal lead.

“I think we kept our shape well and showed great character, which is important.

“When you keep fighting and show desire, then sometimes you get a little bit of luck on your side. A few weeks ago, the chance at the end would have gone in.

“We need to keep this spirit. We’ve won two games and we want to go on a run now.”

The three points took Swansea City to 15th on the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone.
