Police saves alleged armed robber from being lynched

In a video circulating on social media, the irate youth could be seen struggling with the police to land punches on his face.

A man, suspected of being an armed robber, has been saved by the police from being lynched in East Legon, Accra.

He was accused of robbing a white man in the neighbourhood.

Others were seen struggling to prevent the crowd from beating the suspect.

"Shame, nice guy you won't work, you won't work...shame," a woman could be heard saying in the video.

He has been sent to the East Legon police station for further investigation.

The alleged robber is said to be a foreigner but his nationality is yet to be established.
