Ghanaian actress,
This comes on the back of assertions by some who believe she should not have been appointed as she has been missing from the movie industry for long.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review on Thursday, Nadia Buari indicated that her break from the industry was due to her motherly role and will therefore be wrong for anyone to regard that as being dormant.
She also noted that she has not been seen in movies at it used to be because she has become selective about scripts.
“It’s very bad for anybody to think that. I think everybody is aware of the fact that I took some time off to be a mother. So I feel like it’s really wrong for anybody to regard motherhood as dormancy. I think it’s the greatest job in the world. But besides that, I have been active. When I started acting, I was hungry for the experience and exposure and I think by God’s grace, I have gained that so for now, I’m basically taking my time and being selective,” she said.
The mother of twins was appointed ambassador for the scheme at the official launch held at Tang Palace Hotel in Accra.
Confronted with a question on whether she will be paid for her services or not, Nadia neither confirmed nor denied.
“All I know is, I was made an ambassador because I’m a major player in the movie industry. I’m basically to create the awareness for the organisation,” she replied.
The 2016 Golden Movie Awards is slated for June 25 at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra.
