120 subverted organisations on mechanised payroll

One hundred and twenty (120) subvented organisations as at December 2015 have been migrated onto the mechanized payroll.

A statement by the Finance Ministry in Accra yesterday said the migration followed the inception of government’s policy decision to migrate all subvented organisations onto the mechanised payroll.

According to the statement, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) had been directed by the government to complete the migration process by end the end of March, 2016.

The statement said 20 of the subvented agencies (including the military) are yet to be migrated.

“The department, therefore, wishes to inform these remaining agencies whose salaries are paid outside the government of Ghana mechanized payroll system at CAGD at their subventions would cease in March 2016 if they fail to submit details of payroll information for the migration onto the payroll.

The statement said the policy decision was to effectively manage and exercise budgetary control over payroll cost.
