Ashgold set to play friendly against Libyan opposition

Ashanti Gold are seriously in talks for a friendly against a yet to be named Libyan side in order to have a feel of playing against a North African side prior to their CAF Champions League game against M.O Bejaia.

Although, the GHALCA top six will give some clubs including Ashgold and Medeama, the two Ghanaian representatives in Africa some test to keep them active ahead of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively, the champions still believe an international friendly will do the trick for them.

“We are on the verge of confirming friendly games against clubs in Tanzania, Nigeria and Libya. The Libyan opposition is very necessary because it presents to us an opportunity to play a North African side ahead of our CAF Champions League game.

“Although the G-6 will keep us a bit busy, but it is not as competitive as the league, hence the need to play some international matches to keep us in shape,” Kudjoe Fianoo the CEO of Ashanti Gold told Asempa FM.
