Westbrook is known to be one of the most maverick dressers in the NBA, often catching the eyes and comments on social media platforms.
As a prelude to the list, Westbrook is on the July cover of Sports Illustrated where he explained the idea behind his style.
“It goes across so many things, not just in fashion but your whole self. It’s so important to remember to be yourself, regardless of what others think,” the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard said.
“I wear a combination of everything. I go with what I’m feeling and with what looks good, regardless of how much it is. I want to show people across the world that you don’t always have to wear high-end. Whatever it is, you can still be fashionable.”
The top 20 names on the list are largely made up of American NBA, MLB and NHL stars.
In number two is NFL star Victor Cruz while tennis stars Serena Williams and Roger Federer are next in third and fourth.
Sports Illustrated highlights that Williams’s dresses according to her personality as a strong woman and ‘everything flows from it’. “Strong isn't just sexy, it's incredibly chic in Serena Williams' case.”
Federer is praised for his classic pieces, such as blazers and slim suits.
NBA star LeBron James rounds up the top five.
Hockey star Henrik Lundqvist is sixth, Dwayne Wade, Lewis Hamilton, Andre Iguodala and Maria Sharapova complete the top 10.
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is 11th on the list, praised for his 'sleek, slim and sharp' style.
A panel of stylists, executives, models, journalists and other influencers in the fashion industry worked with Sports Illustrated to create the list.
